Parade of Style Cocktail Pairings

Life of Hygge

Cocktail: Pear and Elderflower Spritz

Life of Hygee

Just like a light and refreshing cocktail, this farmhouse-style home provides the airy, light-filled space you love, with an open-concept living area with a vaulted ceiling, green features, a peaceful study, and more.

  • 2 oz. pear vodka 
  • 2 oz. St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
  • 1 oz. club soda
  • Garnish: pear, thyme, or lemon

Fill a glass with ice and pour in pear vodka and elderflower liqueur. Top with club soda and garnish with a sprig of thyme, pear, or lemon.

 

Staycation

Cocktail: Citrus Paloma

With unique features like an upstairs loft and rec room, a Zoom call room, a screened porch with a double-sided fireplace, and 10-foot ceilings, this beautiful home puts a calming, coastal twist on classic design.

Staycation

  • 3 oz. freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 1 1/2 oz. of sparkling water
  • 1 oz. tequila
  • 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier
  • Sugar or salt
  • Lime and grapefruit slices

Place a small amount of sugar or salt on a plate. Moisten the rim of glass with a lime wedge. Rim your glass with sugar or salt. Add a small amount of ice to a cocktail shaker and to your drinking glass. To the shaker, add grapefruit juice, tequila, and Grand Marnier. Shake to combine and pour over ice. Add sparkling water. Stir gently, just until combined. Garnish and serve.

Cocktail: Blueberry Mint Julep

Inspired by modern French design and filled with unique details like vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, this home is bold and vibrant, just like a classic cocktail with a modern twist. Blueberry Mint Julep

  • 6-8 blueberries
  • 10-12 mint leaves, plus extra for garnish
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • 2 oz. bourbon
  • 2 oz. soda water

Gently muddle the blueberries, mint leaves, and simple syrup in the bottom of a glass. Add bourbon and stir. Add enough crushed ice to fill the glass to the rim, and then pour the soda water over the ice. Garnish with a mint sprig.

Cocktail: Bourbon Old Fashioned

Suave and full of bold personality, this distinctive home is filled with features like double staircases, an oversized master wardrobe with seating, an owner’s entry with storage lockers, and elements of sophisticated comfort and warmth like this classic drink.Bourbon Old Fashioned

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 dashes bitters
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 2 oz. bourbon
  • Garnish: orange peel

Add the sugar, bitters, and water into a rocks glass, and stir until sugar is nearly dissolved. Pour the water and bitters into glass, stir to combine, then place the ice cubes in the glass. Pour bourbon over the ice and garnish with the orange slice.

Cocktail: Lemon Ginger Tea (Non-Alcoholic)

With a beautiful open-concept living area, sunroom, and large screened porch, this home feels like a calming retreat in the English hillside — just like a simple, staple tea that satisfies at all times.Lemon Ginger Tea

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 piece ginger, 2-3 inch (5-7 cm)
  • 2 teaspoons honey or preferred sweetener

Bring water to a boil and remove from heat. Cut lemon and ginger into thin slices. Add to the hot water. Steep for 5-10 minutes. Strain and pour tea into a mug. Add in honey and stir.

Cocktail: Matcha Latte (Non-Alcoholic)

Innovative and comforting, this home features modern details like a waterfall kitchen island, a floating staircase, an artist loft showcasing local art, a zero-entry shower in the master bathroom, and so much more between its modern clean lines and sharp angles.Matcha Latte

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • 1 tablespoon hot water
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 3/4 cup hot milk (regular, almond, or oat)

Sift the matcha powder into a cup. Add the water and stir until no lumps remain. Stir in the honey. Add the milk and serve.

Cocktail: The Charleston Gimlet

A modern take on an Eastern Carolina cottage, this unique living space is both classy and bold, with features like a dedicated study, see-through fireplace, natural wooden beam waterfall in the master shower, and more in this intercoastal home.Charleston Gimlet

  • 2 1/2 oz. gin
  • 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • Garnish: lime wheel

Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wheel.

 

Moss Hill Towne

Cocktail: Pinot Grigio Spritzer

With a luxurious first-floor owner’s suite, and other convenient details like a grilling deck that overlooks the natural green space, the rustic yet classic comfort of this home reflects the simple satisfaction of a timeless, fan-favorite drink. Pinot Grigio Spritzer

  • 3/4 glass chilled white wine
  • 1/4 glass chilled club soda
  • Slice of lime or your favorite berries

Fill your glass with both the wine and club, add your favorite berries or a lime wedge. Add a splash of ginger ale or lemon lime soda for something sweeter.

Cocktail: Blackberry Thyme Gin & Tonic

Inspired by early 1930s downtown Durham, this timeless, ranch-style home reflects an English garden vibe with arch details, oversized triple-slider glass doors that lead to a screened back porch, and more.

  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  •  8 blackberries
  •  4 oz. gin
  •  2 oz. thyme simple syrup (3 sprigs thyme, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar simmered and cooled)
  •  Tonic
  •  Ice
  •  Garnish: blackberries, thyme sprigs

Muddle together blackberries and lime juice in the bottom of a mixing glass. Fill mixing glass with ice and stir in the gin and simple syrup. Stir and strain it into ice-filled glasses. Top it off with tonic.

 

Dukes Revival

Cocktail: Classic Dirty Martini

Just like your favorite go-to drink, this classic new urban Durham stye home is satisfactory from top to bottom, with an oversized kitchen island, Zoom call room, large covered porch leading to the patio, and a grand foyer with a wrought iron staircase.Classic Dirty Martini

  • 2 1/2 oz. gin or vodka
  • 1/2 oz. dry vermouth 
  • 1/4 to 1/2 oz. olive juice (or olive brine to taste)
  • Garnish: 1 or 3 olives

In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour the gin, dry vermouth, and olive juice. Stir well and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with 1 or 3 olives.
