Homes By Dickerson now in South Carolina!

Homes By Dickerson is excited to announce that we are expanding into the state of South Carolina, selling custom homes in Nexton, a master-planned community in the desirable Charleston area!  This opportunity will broaden the regional influence we have had since we began building and selling custom homes in 1975.  It also takes the number of markets we are currently selling in to three as we announced our move into the prestigious Pinehurst National No. 9 Golf Course Community last year.

Over the years, Homes By Dickerson has created a successful partnership in multiple neighborhoods with the award-winning developer Newland Communities.  After hearing of Newland’s venture into Summerville, South Carolina (near the North Charleston area), we were intrigued by the idea of working in another market and decided to begin brainstorming and researching the possibility.

“We wanted to make sure that the concept of building in a beautiful community near the coast was not just a fun and exciting opportunity but that it made sense for our company,” explains Brant Chesson, president and CEO of Homes By Dickerson.

Over the next year and a half, multiple trips were made to ensure that we understood the project by surveying the area, interviewing possible subcontractors and vendors, and becoming familiar with the geography and lifestyle.  We were pleasantly surprised at the progress already made in that area.

“It was attractive to us that the commercial spaces and apartment buildings were underway and that the Charleston market was ready for the growth,” says Chesson.

Our leadership team became very aware that the Charleston economy is booming and that South Carolina is doing an excellent job of bringing business into the state, especially this historic, coastal region.  Location is always key so Nexton’s proximity to the coast and convenience to I-26 (a major thoroughfare in South Carolina) increased the attraction.  Recent additions to the area of global firms such as Boeing, Mercedes Benz Vans, and Volvo only enticed our desire for inclusion into the Nexton neighborhood.

Another concern we had with moving into a completely new market was ensuring that the Homes By Dickerson culture would still be reflected in every step of the building process.

“We are different from a lot of our competition in that we offer high-performance green features and the ability to customize our homes with a very personal, hands-on and client-friendly experience,” clarifies Chesson.  “We just can’t teach that from four hours away.”

We knew that the only way this venture would be successful would be to draw from our existing group of talented, dedicated individuals.  Fortunately, the timing and challenge appealed to our then Project Manager Jonathan Bailey and Designer Rachel Bailey.

Jonathan, a Construction Management graduate of East Carolina University and seasoned custom home builder, now serves as Division President for Homes By Dickerson Charleston.  Rachel, an Interior Design major from Meredith College and member of the Interior Design Society, has taken on the role of Division Vice President.

“Jonathan and Rachel represent all aspects of our business from how we build and design our homes to how we interact with our clients,” confirms Chesson.

We are offering ranch and cottage home plans in the Nexton community featuring open-living concepts and first-floor master suites ranging from 1900-2400 square feet. New Communities :: Haywood in North Raleigh, Traditions in Wake Forest, and Sunset Bluffs in Fuquay Varina

  • Haywood is our newest exclusive Homes by Dickerson community now underway in North Raleigh just off Glenwood Avenue and Pinecrest Road.  The roads will be paved by next week and we will have 3 homes under construction very soon.  We currently have 2 pre-sales and a plan portfolio that we can share with you and your clients.  Our in-house architect, Jeff Williams, has really helped create a unique streetscape and incorporated great outdoor living areas.  Haywood is in a prime location with very little new construction options.  Getting your clients in at this stage also allows them the ability to customize and personalize their home.
  • Bridgewater at Traditions in Wake Forest is the new Estate section of this master planned community.  Homes by Dickerson is proud to be part of the custom builder team.  Bridgewater offers an enclave of 1/2 acre wooded home sites, several of which back to the Wake Forest Resevoir.  We will have 2 Parade Homes in Traditions.  There are several pre-sale opportunities in this community and with it just beginning there are several great home sites to choose from!
  • Sunset Bluffs in Fuquay Varina is now underway! Homes by Dickerson has constructed the model where Bryan Properties will be working from to sell the final remaining opportunities to be part of the family of Sunset Ridge and Sunset Oaks communities.  Kathy Pierce will be representing the builder team in this community and Homes by Dickerson has 3 available homes under construction, including a Parade Home, the Arramore.

Many of you have been waiting and very patient while we get development underway and are now ready to share Homes by Dickerson’s newest exclusive community, Haywood! We are officially recorded and can begin sharing the vision and details.

Haywood is located just off Glenwood Ave and Pinecrest Road in North Raleigh. There will be 25 home sites available; some heavily wooded and a few basement opportunities. Homes will be starting from the $650’s and will all have distinctive design details that make Homes by Dickerson custom communities unique.

Here are a few pictures of our plan charrette that our in-house architect, Jeff Williams, and our designer, Rachel Bailey, put together to show us some of the colors, exterior elements, details and options that could be available in Haywood.  Linda Bohling will be Haywood’s Community Sales Manager working alongside of Project Manager, Ryan Speight. Our team works hard to listen to your clients needs and wants and will put together a package and home design that is right for them. They will have the option of starting from our current plan portfolio, modifying those plans or designing something completely unique. We have selected three homes to get the community started that will be available for sale. These homes are the Sullivan B, the Foxborough Hill II and the Underwood. **Note that anything shown in the pictures below are subject to change and lot numbers shown are not exact and are to just help give guidance to the overall concept**

All of our homes will be high performance meaning they are Energy Star® and National Green Building Standard Certified which ensures your home is not just energy efficient, but is also more comfortable, healthier and right for the environment.

Our initial Haywood concept portfolio can be seen by requesting online or a package of information can also be mailed or picked up if you would prefer to review the details that way.  Simply send your request to info@homesbydickerson.com.

To maintain the integrity of the vision for Haywood, each elevation will be reviewed and approved by the architectural review board. Typical building time is about 8 months from start to finish and will be spaced accordingly due to demand to ensure that everyone receives personal service and attention.

Homes by Dickerson offers a full design center and showroom where you and your clients will be able to work with our design team to bring their home to life. Initial meetings with Linda and Ryan be held at our design center until the community is farther along. The design center is located at 7201 Creedmoor Rd, Suite 147, Raleigh, NC 27613.
